Description
A wonderfully decorative Edwardian mahogany corner display cabinet, dating from the early years of the 20th century and combining glazed storage, mirrored display space and carved detailing within a relatively compact footprint.
Designed to sit neatly into the corner of a room, the cabinet rises to an ornate mirrored gallery. Bevelled mirror panels are framed by shaped mahogany supports and topped with turned finials, while carved fan motifs and scrolling details add interest.
Below sits the main display cupboard, enclosed by a pair of glazed doors and lined internally in a warm russet-toned velvet. The contrast between the deep velvet and polished mahogany gives the cabinet a particularly rich appearance and makes it ideal for displaying smaller collections. An open shelf beneath provides an additional display area and balances the enclosed cupboard above.
A characterful and unusual piece of Edwardian furniture, particularly suited to a hallway, dining room or sitting room where it can make use of a corner that might otherwise remain empty.
