Description
A generously sized vintage oil painting depicting a tranquil mountain landscape, signed E. Manning to the lower right.
Painted in a muted palette of soft blues, greens, earthy browns and autumnal tones, the scene looks across calm water towards a dramatic rocky mountain range in the distance. Slender trees frame the composition on either side, while areas of textured paint give definition to the mountains, foliage and water.
The restrained colouring gives the painting a particularly decorative quality — substantial enough to work as a feature piece, but with a softness that makes it easy to place within both traditional and more relaxed contemporary interiors.
Presented in its gilt-effect frame with fine moulded detailing and an aged, lightly mottled finish which complements the landscape well.
A lovely larger-scale piece for above a sideboard, console, fireplace or within a collected gallery wall.
