Description

A very attractive vintage (circa 1960 / 1980's) tripod occasional table, made in the traditional Georgian manner and particularly useful for adding a little height and interest beside a chair, fireplace or within a grouped furniture arrangement.

The circular top measures approximately 37.5 cm in diameter and is finished with a decorative shaped pie crust edge. Below, the top is supported on a finely turned central pedestal. The stem incorporates ring turning and a fluted urn-shaped section before widening into a three-part base. Three gracefully swept legs extend from the central pedestal, giving the table an elegant silhouette from every angle and providing a stable footprint despite its relatively delicate appearance.

The polished timber has a warm reddish-brown tone with visible figuring across the top, while the restrained moulded edge gives the piece enough detail without making it overly ornate.

At only 32 cm high, it is particularly useful as a small plant stand, occasional table beside a low chair, display table for a decorative object, or simply as an architectural piece to add another level within a room. It would work especially well with a ceramic vase, small sculpture, brass object or trailing plant. Its modest scale also makes it particularly useful where a larger side table would feel intrusive

diameter 37.5cm / height 32cm
